About Jakarta Aquarium & Safari
Jakarta Aquarium & Safari is Indonesia’s first and largest indoor aquarium, located in the heart of Jakarta at Neo Soho Mall. Home to thousands of marine and terrestrial animals from across the globe, the venue offers visitors an immersive journey through underwater worlds, rainforest habitats, and interactive exhibits. From piranha feedings to mermaid shows, the aquarium blends education with entertainment to create memorable experiences for families, school groups, and tourists alike.
As one of Jakarta’s premier attractions, the venue needed a digital platform that matched the wonder and excitement of the physical experience. The previous website struggled with ticket booking flow, event discoverability, and mobile responsiveness, leading to lost revenue and frustrated visitors trying to plan their trips online.
Immersive Digital Experience
The redesign centred on bringing the aquarium’s vibrant atmosphere to the screen. Rich imagery and fluid layouts guide visitors through the site much like the walkways guide them through the physical exhibits. The colour palette draws from deep ocean blues and warm coral tones, creating a visual connection between the website and the underwater world within.
Navigation was restructured around visitor intent. Prominent ticket booking entry points appear throughout the site, reducing the number of clicks from landing to purchase. The events calendar was redesigned with filtering capabilities so visitors can quickly find upcoming shows, feeding schedules, and special seasonal events. Each exhibit now has its own dedicated page with species information, visitor tips, and photo galleries.

The discovery phase included on-site visits to understand the visitor journey, analytics review of the existing site to identify drop-off points, and competitive analysis of international aquarium websites.
The ticket booking integration was a critical deliverable. Dihardja Software designed and implemented a streamlined booking flow that reduced the steps from landing page to confirmed purchase. The responsive design ensures that the majority of visitors browsing on mobile devices enjoy the same seamless experience as desktop users. Since launch, the aquarium has seen a significant uplift in online ticket sales and a reduction in booking-related support enquiries.
