MySiloam Patient Portal
Patient Portal App for Siloam Hospitals
About MySiloam
Siloam Hospitals is one of Indonesia’s largest and most respected private hospital networks, operating dozens of hospitals and clinics across the archipelago. Serving millions of patients each year, Siloam recognised the need for a unified digital platform that would simplify the patient experience from appointment scheduling through to post-visit follow-up. The MySiloam patient portal was conceived as the bridge between patients and the hospital network’s extensive healthcare services.
Before MySiloam, patients relied on phone calls and in-person visits for routine tasks like booking appointments, checking lab results, and managing prescriptions. The goal was to put these capabilities directly into patients’ hands through a mobile app that felt intuitive even to users who were not tech-savvy, a critical consideration given the diverse demographics of Siloam’s patient base.
Patient Experience Design
Designing for healthcare demands a different mindset than designing for e-commerce or entertainment. Every interaction in MySiloam was designed with empathy at its core. The interface uses clear, calming visual language with generous whitespace and straightforward navigation. Medical jargon is minimised in favour of plain language, and critical actions like booking an appointment or viewing test results are never more than two taps away from the home screen.
The appointment booking flow accounts for the complexity of a multi-hospital network. Patients can search by doctor name, specialty, or hospital location, view available time slots in real time, and confirm bookings with a single tap. Push notifications remind patients of upcoming appointments and alert them when lab results are ready for review. The app also stores a complete visit history, giving patients and their doctors a shared reference point for ongoing care.
How Dihardja Software Helps
Dihardja Software was engaged to lead the UI/UX design and mobile app development for MySiloam. The project began with extensive user research, including interviews with patients across different age groups and comfort levels with technology, as well as workshops with hospital administrative staff and clinicians to understand operational workflows.
The design process went through multiple rounds of prototyping and usability testing before entering development. Dihardja Software built the app with a focus on reliability and performance, understanding that a healthcare app cannot afford downtime or sluggish response times. Accessibility was a priority throughout, with support for larger text sizes, high-contrast mode, and screen reader compatibility. The result is a patient portal that has been adopted by hundreds of thousands of Siloam patients and continues to evolve with new features each quarter.
